Vinyl Siding House Washing

Vinyl siding is a sensitive material that cannot be cleaned with high pressure. It attracts light vegetation such as algae, lichen, and sometimes mold, but mainly holds dirt and dust. In some cases, algae blooms on the siding can cause harmful bacteria to float in through open windows and doors, which is especially bad for those with breathing issues. House washing uses a light cleaning mixture which is soaped onto the siding from the ground. This mixture dissolves any dirt and kills any algae. After a thorough rinse down, the house is left shining and with the surrounding air smelling fresh.

Aluminum Siding House Washing

Aluminum siding is mainly used on older buildings and have been phased out by vinyl siding over the decades. Aluminum siding can also be covered in algae, lichen, dust, and dirt, but more importantly aluminum siding can become covered in oxidation after several years of weathering. In order to properly clean this style and condition of siding, a light cleaning mixture is used followed by a very gentle rinse. This technique prevents the oxidation layer from being bothered while still thoroughly cleaning the surface level grime. What's left is clean and uniform colored siding for your next project.

A house with brick siding in Cypress Hills in Queens, NY that has just been cleaned by Queens Pressure Washing.

Brick Siding House Washing

Brick siding is installed with grout and cement which can be damaged by high pressure. Algae blooms can settle and grow more quickly on brick siding, especially when lush plant life is nearby. A stronger cleaning mixture than vinyl or aluminum siding is applied to the outside in order to absorb into the pores of the brick and mortar followed by a very thorough rinse down with gentle pressure. This method prevents any damage to the outer layer of the bricks and prevents mortar from blasting out in between the joints.
