Polymeric Sand Installation
Polymeric sand is needed to stabilize pavers, otherwise pavers become loose while also allowing for vegetation to grow in the joints. The installation is a specialized process and can only be done after deep cleaning all the joints. Pricing varies depending on the square footage of the paver installation and the style of joints. Polymeric Sand Installation
Polymeric sand is a mixture of sand and additives that forms a binding agent when exposed to water. This type of sand is best for paver installations located in temperate climates, such as in the northeast, where the pavers expand in the hot summers and contract in the cold winters. Regular paver sand doesn't have the same stabilizing properties of polymeric sand and washes out very quickly if not sealed properly. Polymeric sand hardens after the final watering process, which not only keeps the pavers from moving, it keeps the pavers glued to one another. When installed correctly, weeds have no place left to grow in between paver joints, and moisture doesn't have a path to get into the paver base. The installation of this sand is a specialized process and can only be considered after completing a deep cleaning of the pavers. The end result is a strong paver installation that can be safely used for months if not years.
